Project Title: Enhancement of the Surface Integrity Characteristics of Inconel 718 Alloy Parts Manufactured Using Selective Laser Melting Method ( July 2018-December 2020)

Project Summary: 

In this project, Selective Laser Melting process parameters for Inconel 718 alloy will be optimized by using Simufact software to reduce thermal residual stress and distortion. Besides, surface integrity characteristics of SLMed Inconel 718 alloy including surface quality and subsurface aspects microhardness, phase transformation, etc will be examined after post processing such as burnishing, finish machining, laser burnishing operations. Furthermore, fatigue tests, mechanical tests, corrosion and wear tests will be carried out to observe response of SLMed alloy.
